Re: Cape Town by myself

I kite alone most of the time, trying to find the most uncrowded spot. There are plenty of kiters/spectators around looking out for you if you worried about drowning or losing a board. The only thing I leave on the beach sometimes is a pump. However it may be (ab)used by other kiters while you're on...

Re: The Truth behind Naish Warranties

I wouldn't really expect the shop to pay for any of andy's kite damage but it was nice of them to offer the repair at cost. My pivot's leading edge also exploded when I crashed in the water after a wipeout, kite was about a year old at the time. I didn't think twice about it being a warranty issue. ...

Re: Cape Town Great Whites

There are plenty sharks out here but they have not acquired a taste for kiters yet.

Cape Town has been real busy this December and I've had to resort to going out at night. Luckily I have never seen a shark in the dark :naughty:

Re: Eastern Cape SA, Port Alfred in October?

I spent about a week in the Port Alfred area beginning of October a few years ago. Had wind every day different strengths, different directions, so take 8m through to 14m. There are many river mouths to kite, check on google earth before you go and try a few of them. Watch out for jellyfish and shar...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 2016 Versus Switch Nitro/Element

Thanks for the detailed review! If price was the same which kite would you choose ? The relaunch is important to me even though I don't drop the kite too often , but I do kite in an area with lots of boats, ferries, shipping liners and have had to relaunch very fast in the past to avoid an incoming...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 2016 Versus Switch Nitro/Element

I've got my first switch kite, a nitro5 8m, six weeks ago and have flown it eight times so far in varying conditions (15-30kn) which I think is enough to give some feedback now. I've also flown the 2016 switchblade six times, twice back to back with the nitro5 same size. I almost bought the 2016 swi...

How did yours eventually expire? I've had my warrior 3 at least five years and its looking close to expiring. Don't know what I'd replace it with either.

Re: Let's talk risk (KOTA)

Why is it all we see in the Kota is the very simple tweaked out board off. just not worth the points or not worth the risk...or both? Taking the board off in over 30 knots is actually quite difficult and risky because the board just wants to blow away when its not attached to your feet. The board i...

Re: King of the Air 2016 - all info

You can see Lasse's crash at 2:48:13 on Day 2 vid at http://redbullkingoftheair.com/live-feed/ and Lewis's crash wasn't quite caught by the redbull cams at 3:05:01 but it was pretty much the same thing, I think he might have caught a wind lull during his loop and the kite could not climb fast enough...
