Re: Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

But really - how often do you ride with two hands on the bar ? In waves, NEVER.... In freestyle - only now and then.... I must say, I have difficulties seeing how one could use these for anything but kayaking (which I think they are designed for), or maybe just going back and fourth doing nothing :...

Re: Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

With these are your hands velcrowed around the bar? The pogies are attached to the bar, you slip your hands into them. I'm guessing the tighter they attach to the bar, the more watertight, but you'd have less ability to move your hands around on the bar. The looser they are, the more water gets in,...

Re: Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

My buddy swears by these pogies http://images.mec.ca/fluid/customers/c822/5023-625/generated/5023-625_BK000_view1_720x720.jpg No grip problems. The questions are whether they restrict your hand movement on the bar and if they are warm enough -- would take the edge off from wind chill, but I'm not su...

Re: Kitelooping for dummies

Thanks for posting that Dr. I will need translation, but I'll ask my wife...good opportunity to get her involved in this kiting madness. I've never looped the kite on purpose, but I need to learn the loop transitions, as wave riding is my goal. So, I guess first step is to loop it intentionally and ...

Re: double death loop stuck hard up against each other

That's pretty scary. I don't think the video does it justice for how potentially dangerous this is. What I find scary about it is that you could be a relative newbie doing everything right, and then some clown does a jump in the wrong spot, lands on your lines, and now you're in for a serious ride. ...

Re: Help a mate launch or land, with your kite in the air

ok....dumb question.....why wouldn't you just use a fixed point launch, tether to something solid, even if only the kite bag full of rocks? with friend holding it, if something does go wrong in launch or with their airborne kite, and they let go, there's nothing holding the kite. Not sure I see the ...

Re: nice wavekite video's but.....

So, PixelPedro, by any chance are you over 40? In the surfing community, its the old guys who cry about this ... want to see the whole wave, want to see the set up, etc.....the youngsters, they just want to see the big move! But in kiting the thing that surprises me a little....if it's the kit...

Re: Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

Long-time surfer, fairly new kiter, first time yesterday kiting with gloves. Wow, see what you mean, a lot more work to hold onto the bar. Due to gear failure my session was only 20 minutes, but I can see after an hour or two that grip would get tough. (a buddy of mine says he does forearm and grip ...

Re: Volkswagen AD using kite

Some of the volkswagen ads are really funny and creative. But I don't really get this one. Seems pointless and stupid -- exceptionally dangerous for no good reason (I can understand trying dangerous stunts if they are awesome  ). Maybe the joke is somehow lost in translation?

Re: nice wavekite video's but.....

I'm with you NaishKite. I also would like to see a zoomed back shot once in a while, so you can see what they are doing with the kite while they rided. The close up slashes are great and all ... but the kite flying is real deal. As well, quick cuts of slo-mo slashes over and over get tiresome.....sh...
