Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

SURF and TT Review: 2018 9m ultra. 17-21 knots side-onshore wind, 2-3 foot waves, 80kg rider, 20m lines, jimmy lewis surfboard and then a crazyfly carbon TT. Very powerful for it's size, I was on the 9m and everyone else on 12ms (riding TT). Again it's a super fast kite and flies very close to edge ...

Re: Kiting locations near Bal Harbor Miami FL

Multiple spots nearby, check kitespots on this site. I've kited all around there and it's awesome for foiling (and TT if there's wind). I personally would recommend riding Dania beach, long foil rides in a nature preserve without lots of people around. Otherwise if you want to get a ticket for Crand...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

FOILING REVIEW: Rode the 9m 2018 ultra today on high aspect foil in 8-14knots today 80kg, 25m lines. First time flying it. Kite: Very light and well constructed kite. Very high quality, classic Airush. Looks really small but I guess it's just a regular 9m. Nice bumpers and stitching, inflates in 30 ...

Re: North Neo vs Cabrinha Drifter for wave/freeride

I have ridden all of those wave kites and I think the reo is the best. But it sounds like you want something freeride so don't get any of them. Get a 12m freeride kite for those winds.

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

I agree, have flown several different 2017/2018 wave kites (drifter, neo, wave) and they all feel huge/horrible. I think 12m is just too big for a wave kite which is intentionally designed to be somewhat inefficient (one of the reasons they "drift") and have large flat wingtips.

Re: Stem Cell Treatment for Shoulder?

Wow what a thread. I am an academic M.D. and do basic science research as well including with "stem cells", of which there are many types. No-one is really harvesting "stem cells" from embryos anymore because it is time-consuming, quasi-unethical, and almost always unnecessary now that we know about...

Re: One Board - Kite and Surf Foiling

I do both but with different boards, high volume 5'4" custom board for surfing and very thin low volume 4' board for kiting. Surf is going to be 35+ liters volume, which is weird for kiting although you could easily use it. Kite-foiling is best with a solid board kind of like a skimboard with a foil...

Re: Launching solo

But the key is finding an empty beach. You shouldn't do this on crowded beaches.

Re: Launching solo

I self launch and land all the time. You just pull on one line and the kite rotates and then launches. Works great. To land I either try and maneuver it to fall leading edge down or if that won't work or its too windy I bring it to the side of the window and do single line flag on the front lower li...
