Safely self-launch with a line-mount GoPro?

I have a camrig and use it occasionally but only when I have an assist launch. The videos are by far the best you can get with a GoPro. I would like to use it more but I self-launch frequently and it's pretty sketchy self launching with it weighing/tangling on your lines as anyone who has tried know...

Re: Best Kiteboarding new prices - Price revolution

I remember flying the original best Hellfish with the silver fabric that was supposed to be magical. It literally popped and fell from the sky while I was flying it and Shannon was there super embarrassed with tons of excuses. This is the kite that they had videos and claims of people riding twin ti...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Re: Drysuits circa 2018

Get one with pee zipper. I had a mystic drysuit years ago. I think I used it 10-15 times. Inevitably I'd get the thing on, be ready to kite or out there on the water and have to take a pee. What a hassle to get the back zip off and pee. If you don't get a pee zip, then get some sort of front zip so...

Re: Attaching a foil to an old twinny?

I've done it to several boards. Definitely not for learning, bolt to a skim or something bigger with more volume if you are a beginner. Once you have foiling down then bolt it to a TT and put some foam grip on top, works awesome. As stated above, flex is bad so try and use a stiff board. Otherwise j...

Re: Takuma v100 vs LF Impulse for kitefoiling

I have the Takuma v100 and a LF Happy foil, so not a comparison to the Impulse but: -Takuma is WAY more stable and slower and comes up on foil instantly, great for surf foiing and kitesurf foiling - Happy foil is much much faster and more fun for kite foiling in my opinion but would be bad for kites...

LA area kiting?

Going to downtown LA this saturday for a week for a work trip.

Is it worth bringing gear? kite/tt/kitefoil?

There is very little talk about SoCal on here and I can imagine there's minimal wind and lots of beachgoers/surfers....

Re: Foilmount

just drill holes and bolt the foil on your board, I've done it to 4 different boards, works great. Washers on top, long bolts, nuts on bottom. Stainless steel.

Finally gave it a shot. Not as easy as it looks. I think it will work but I think it is prudent to start saving for a production board. Hopefully they will be available when I am ready.
How is this working?

Re: Foiling on Kauai?

Yeah, I was also on Oahu where the wind and conditions at Kailua were awesome.

It was just odd because conditions on the east side were excellent and I saw ZERO kites or windsurfers at all...
