Re: Emergency - Flagging out kites

With all due respect, I call bullshit. OK. So back it up with evidence. I've used single flag systems. If you punch the release you wind up, yes, depowering your kite, but you wind up with an irrecoverable mess. Time to swim in. Now I use a dual flag system. I punch the release and it works perfect...

Is this still the preferred method for single front line flag out bar recovery?
Yeah. Ball it up and swim in. Because that's what you're going to wind up with in the real world. 2 Front line flag is by far the best for all but rank beginners.

Nothing wrong with 5 struts. I've been running the old Spitfire for years now and it's one of the best kites I've ever flown. I'd like to see the actual changes they made for this new model.

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Possibly, but you still have a single front line flag. Possibly a good beginner setup, but not so good for advanced riding. My/Caution/OR's setup is much better with flagging on both front lines. It completely depowers the kite without the resulting irrecoverable mess that a single line flag generat...

The reason is that I loop my kite a lot when on the wave and the stopper allows me to quickly and easily spin my bar and have untwisted lines again in less...

Re: I just came up with this (stretch lines)

No just one. I was used to the timing on my 9m and switched to my 7m. Just pulled a little too early. Fortunately both lines snapped at the same time, so the kite just flagged out and I swam in. No biggie.
