Re: Why sheeting in reduce power?

If you sheet in too much you can be stalling the kite so that the wind is not flowing cleanly over it. The wind over the top of it might be separating and not flowing as efficiently if sheeted in too much. It all depends on your kite and how you have it trimmed. You are more likely to be over-sheeti...

Re: getting my board on my feet / harness limitations

It might depend on what footwear you are wearing and how tight the straps are, but I never hold the board while putting my board on my feet. I can work them in on their own. Maybe try sitting on the couch with the board on the floor and just get the feet used to how to get into the straps, over and ...

Re: First kite for a very, very beginner

Forget trying to assign a number to the wind speed. Different meters in different locations on shore read differently. Lots of people estimate the wind strength differently. Even with a handheld anemometer, you can get different numbers depending how you hold it. Go with the size that others at the ...

Re: Breakaway leash?

I get that there is a board difference too, but did you kite in the early 2000's? If so you'll know that when you fall there was no quick depower

Re: Breakaway leash?

There was mention a few posts ago about people getting smacked by boards in the early 2000s. Back in those days when we fell, if the kite was in the power zone, it was pulling for a while. With minimal depower, those days were probably the worst time to be connected to a board. I'm not suggesting pe...

Custom bar question

I want to piece together another bar the way I like them, but I need another actual bar. I see that there are some on aliexpress. Yes, I know, don't buy chineese stuff etc, but if anyone can point me to any other basic bar that I can build onto instead then please do. If I start with a straight bar ...

Re: How to fix strut blow out

Someone might be able to tell you better about the repair there, but what went wrong is that the bladder was pulled in by the valve and the front end was folded over. If it was more slippery with talc powder, that would have helped. When the bladder was 90% full of air with no pressure you can stop ...

Re: Why dont people rig lines cross wind to the kite?

If rigging the lines is easiest and safest upwind or downwind, why shame new riders into doing it a different way? Is the goal to have more problems with people launching with messed up lines? If you rig the lines downwind, you don't have to walk in a arc out to the side to launch. Walk with your ba...

Any GPS numbers to go with that? It's hard to judge speed in that.
