Re: Drowning doesn't look like drowning

Drowning can go completely unnoticed in front of people very close to the victims. For us, who spent a lot of time in or near the water, we must have a sharp eye detecting potential life threatening situations. In Icarai lagoon, two teenagers drowned about 10 feet from shore, where family and friend...

Re: Ring for RideEngine rope spreader bar

I tethered self launch as well quiet often... For sure not all types of CL works well when you try to assemble it with one hand. When I started to use the slider rope system, I practiced to reassemble the CL, until I could do it blind folded. I tethered launch in winds I can hold the kite above the ...

Re: Ring for RideEngine rope spreader bar

Which size do you use? The R14.10? Tomas its the 20 X 14 mm Roy I am not seeing any rings that measure "20 X 14" on the below link. Maybe I am missing something? https://www.ronstan.com/marine/range.asp?RnID=428 [/quote] I think you are looking at a low friction ring from a different brand... In te...

Re: what is the best thing to do at each wind speed?

Problem with 30+ winds is it takes practice for it to be fun. If you live in a place where it goes 30+ every week then it's no problem getting used to the wind. If you live in a place where it blows 30+ once a year you never get a chance to get used to this wind speed. You can spend all day working...

Re: what is the best thing to do at each wind speed?

A surprising amount of experienced dudes don't kite over 30 knots. 30-40 is my favourite wind speed!! you certainly know your alive 30+ knots. I have to agree! Only a few weeks ago I had one of the best SB sessions in Prassonisi in 30-40 knots and over head glassy waves... for me: 7-30 knots Foil 1...

Re: Anyone swap their bar colors around?

Ever since I learned to kite I memorized having Red on the left (where the heart is) Of coarse in the beginning it has oblivious reasons, but now years later I still find my self in situations where I only have a split second to know which side to grab, so it has to be almost instinctive. (situation...

Re: Ride Engine Elite negatives? Can it be too stiff and does it work for tall people?

Hi, I had RE Elite V1 for about 4 years and loved it, until one day it broke my lower rib during a hard crash. I understand the new versions have softer padding around the sides. I now prefer, if the harness goes around my lower rib cages instead digging in to it, when pulled hard. Try to look into ...

Re: Getting past ocean breakers

What others said before me... My home spot (Taiba) is challenging to say the least to get past the shore break. For this reason I ride a pocket board so it's less surface for the wave to push it back. I hold the foil under my arm, body drag and duck dive. (initiate with my head) when opportunity com...
