Re: Leash wrapped around harness hook

I connect my leash to the front using a custom 30cm leash extender made of an old Naish sheeter rope. The length of the rope that could get wrapped around the hook is covered in layers and layers of duct tape which stiffens it and makes it impossible to wrap around the harness hook. Also if i do nee...

Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

As a kiter who loves to travel to spots around the world I’m really starting to think about the impact this has on the planet. For example, the amount of carbon produced to fly across the Atlantic is more than my hybrid electric car produces in a year of driving. This can be offset by purchasing hab...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment for Shoulder?

After 3 knee injuries from snowboarding I have no cartilage left in my knee and I plan on having stem cell therapy performed after the summer kite season. My doctor (who also works on the Seahawks) says he’s seen improvements in 75% of patients two years on after treatment. Can any doctors weigh in ...

Snowkiting options in Bend, Oregon

Thinking about moving to Bend, Oregon. Are there snowkiting locations nearby? I know in summer, the Gorge is about 2.5 hours away for water kiting.

Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

I'll chime in. I've had to back off wakestyle and move to airstyle tricks because I injured my shoulder last fall (rotator cuff). So now I'm all about progressing with board offs, etc which was unthinkable pre-injury. Instead of a kite that's great for load pop I now like to ride kites that go huge ...

Re: Important Message: I almost died - Gunnar Biniasch

Bottom line. If you can stay upwind and if you don't keep the occasional eye out for your fellow kiters you don't deserve to be in the water period. I always check on my fellow kiters if they've been down for over a minute. Whether it's retrieving their board or dragging them in I help out and so do...

Is Wakestyle dead?

I’ve kited for 14 years and after a brief period of people trying boots and handlepasses that no one in my area rides wakestyle any longer. It seems that nearly everyone including younger riders have moved onto strapless surfing, strapless freestyle, air style or foiling. Has anyone else seen this t...
