Re: Switch Legacy 10m review

I have naish and north kites too but I like my Legacy better than my parks, vegas or old rebels. $600 for a new that is durable and flys great is fantastic.

Bring a 17m to Maui in January?

I will be headed to Maui the last two weeks of January and was wondering if I need to bring my 17 strutless for twintip riding? I was planning on bringing just 10 and 14 c-kites.

Re: Switch Legacy 10m review

Hi Scheme,

I had a great kiteloop session on the 10 today and I'm posting to tell you that the kite loops quickly and with a lot of power. So yes it loops fine. Go big!

Re: Kite Paradise

For myself the San Blas were flat water wakestyle paradise with steady 18mph wind everyday the 12 days I was there. To this day I cant land the some of the tricks I stuck there three years ago. Its definitely on my list to return to once my kid gets older.

Re: Switch Kite Serious safety issue with the Bar Controller

I have a Controller 3 and it flags out just fine. Moreover, you could say this about any bar. My Naish bars and swivel hasn't allowed the kite to flag out a number of times in the past, especially after I have a few twists in the lines. These things happen in kiting, everyone will experience a kitem...

Re: Switch Kiteboarding Launches New Innovative Spider Bridl

Bill Hansen is a former aerospace engineer unlike any other many kite designers in the industry and that this new bridle concept is solid and has been tested thoroughly. No matter where the ideas come from I appreciate gear innovation in our sport. BRM Maui like Switch is another company that truly ...

Re: Switch Legacy 10m review

I had another day on the 10m with northerly winds blowing around 35 and gusting into the low 40s and I had no problem holding down this Legacy even when others were on 6-8m bridled kites. My Woo was broken that day, but friends said I was going at least 50 feet high repeatedly, but hard to know with...

Re: Switch Legacy 10m review

Hi. Yes. I rode it in some swell today on my twintip. It doesn't drift as good as the Nitro, Drifter, Pivot, etc but it's ok and I will be hopefully be riding waves on it in Maui in the near future and don't see any issues. The kite, like most C-kites makes a continuous arcing turn and doesn't pivot...

Switch Legacy 10m review

I finally got a chance to ride my new 10 meter Switch Legacy today, and it is simply an amazing kite. After riding major five-letter brands for a decade I had my reservations, but I ended up being more than pleasantly surprised. Winds were in the low 20's with gusts up to about 35 and the kite handl...

Going back to C-Kites. SLEs are inferior for freestyle

I've been kiting for 10 years now and spent the first 4 years riding true C-kites like the R4, Fuel and Vegas. After trying many different SLEs over the years, even those targeted at freestyle, there simply is no substitute for a true C kite when unhooking, mega-looping or boosting. Unless you're in...
