I like the Atan Sunfast booties. Super light weight they really are the next best thing to having nothing on your feet. Yeah, that should work, just change over the chicken loop & the depower line. Probably worth measuring the lengths of the depower lines so you can see if there is a difference in your trim. The asylum is definitely not just a boots board. I rode the 138 Asylum yesterday in the Solent at high tide & 20+knot with straps.
