Re: Moving from a vegas to a better allrounder

I used to fly best gp's and currently fly eleveight fs, it's got a similar feel as a c kite in how stable and direct it is but it has 4 line simplicity, jumps bigger and more hangtime, still has great slack as well. For wave kiting it's not ideal as it has quite some power in the turns but in lower ...

Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

If you want a f-one board for wakestyle then get the WTF, it's a great board for boots. The trax is a board made for footstraps.

Re: Easy kite to learn kiteloops

Use a size smaller than when you're going for your biggest boosts, where normally you would take a 9m in 30kn use a 7m to ease the pull and complete to loop a bit faster. Smaller kites are faster, will catch you better and the pull will be less compared to a bigger kite (in the same wind strength of...

Re: boardshorts versus waist performance

Nobody mentioned a hardshell waist harness here, they are truly a huge improvement over 'soft' waist harnesses. With my hardshell I never feel my back after a long boosting session in strong winds, with the soft harnesses I had before I would have some lower back soreness after a long boosting sessi...

Kiter died in the Netherlands, heart disorder

Dear friends of Koen. Last Saturday Koen had a heart disorder during kitesurfing. Kite friends rescued him and started reanimating. A ambulance brought Koen to the hospital. Medication kept him in coma for 24 hours. For recovery and bringing his body temp back from 32 to 36 degrees. Back from his co...

where did this neck strain stuff come from?
In straps you don't get neck strain, in boots your neck can be sore for weeks with a heavy crash. The board & boots function as an anchor stopping you in your spot. In straps you slide out of your straps and gradually come to a stop.

Re: That guy is dangerous

Why would anyone not wear a helmet while climbing? Rocks fall all the time. Do you climb? Not everybody every time wears helmets. In sport climbing helmet off is more common than helmet on. The same in kiting. It depends on the conditions. For me, non sense to wear a helmet in 12 knots. Chances of ...

Re: That guy is dangerous

Smashed my first Gath helmet in a crash that almost knocked me out (thanks Helmet), and it's saved me from stitches I reckon 3 or 4 times in 7 years of kiting. Crashed thousands of times wearing the Gath helmet including what is arguably the most dangerous positions for neck injury in a helmet, fee...
