Re: Austin TX, business plus kite - place spot advice needed?

Definitely make it to SPI and hit the lagoon as well as do a huge downwinder! There can be really fun chest high waves with the thermals there and the Texans or Mexicans will pick you up in their truck beds to hitchhike back upwind, good people!

Re: Vacation in the Keys?

Can you give us quick reviews of Hatteras, Cabarete, Turks, and Grand Cayman from your perspective (kiter with a group of non-kiters)? How were these spots in that context? I have a similar situation and these are obviously the prime targets coming from East Coast USA

Re: Any news about the Airush Ultra Team?

that kite with alluula variant is going to be amazing. I have the 9m V4 and it's already amazing. Too bad about the prices of these new fabrics, between gas and groceries there's no money left for kites!

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

I don't have an Aluula kite but I do love light kites (just got another Airush Ultra). However I have an OR Glide Aluula wing for winging and it is FAR superior to tradition wings, noting there are much different forces on the wing compared to a kite and also much less power input typically. It's re...

I do basically same thing with a 9m Airush Ultra, Foil -> surfboard/skim -> twintip.

Learning to foil is the key to opening up lightwind and low wind sessions.

No Aluula kites but I have an Aluula hand-wing and it's absolutely amazing.

Re: Foilers - do you still "surf" surf?

I'm in the ocean almost every single day (350+ days) all year doing everything fun available (so I have some credibility to answer this question) and here is how I make my decisions every morning before heading to the beach: -Glassy and 4ft+ waves = surfing a shortboard. -Knee to waist high and glas...

Re: Florida one kite for all winds?

9m Airush ultra. You have to be proficient in all disciplines though: foil, skim, surf, and twin tip. Just change your board depending on the wind from 8 knots up to 30knots+. If you can't foil then you will need a few kites. Of course the Ultra is not optimal for high wind boosting but it still wor...

Re: Kite Skimboard - worth it?

Definitely don't put any fins on it. Kiting with a skim is great and basically it's own discipline. Tough to balance on and you have to be at least intermediate level kiter but once you get good you can ride super shallow and light winds and have lots of fun in microscopic waves that aren't fun othe...

Re: foil kite for 8-12 knots again

I ride my 2018 9m airush ultra down to 9knots and it doubles as lightraft for the swim in when it drops to 4knots!
