Does anybody know density of XPS from Home Depot or Lowes? Can you apply full vacuum without crushing it?

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Just finnished my 3rd cheating (in last 3 days) session on my new Peak4 5m. All the moves are easier to execute. Everything is smoothed out. Don't even start me on drift ability...Launch and Lnding easy and no drama with minimum space. I smile and laugh all session long and then some afterwards. I a...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Just had my first session on my new Peak4 5m yesterday and I was overpowered so I could not really form an objective oppinion. Kite was flapping and upper tip would fold. Kite was managable but nothing special. I was not really impressed Easy launch and no drama landing solo. Today I rode again and....

Re: Pocket board building

So I learned a valuable lesson in Vacuum bagging. I was helping my friend to buila a board. It was 20kg foam that he hand laminated with 4 or 6 oz.glass/epoxy layer. Once it cured he proceeded to vacuum bag deck with carbon fiber twill. Full vacuum at 28. It still uniformly crushed the board on deck...

Re: New (used) Panish A-15

I have never tried A15 with jackpmixer mod. I used it stock and with 2:1 pulley bar as it was suggested on this forum. It provided longer bar sheeting ability and faster turning. Although you have to get used to kite "loose" behaviour when you fly with pulley bar. If Jackomixer does the same thing I...

Re: Exploding lines. Anyone had this happen? (picture in post)

I am curious whether initial break point of the first line coincided with the point where you cross them while looping? Can you check exactly how far from the bar line snapped? I only broke lines hitting hard objects but I loop much more since I started kitefoiling. thanks, Kris

Re: Pocket board building

BTW I understand how beam works and I how stifness increases exponentially with Cube of the thickness. I have a decent grasp of how composites work and physics/mechanics in general. I just do not have a practical experience with board building so any advice from seasoned builder is greatly appreciat...

Re: Pocket board building

I am 74 kg. The boards thickness will be approximately 2.5 to 3 inch or around 5 to 7.5 cm to accomodate nose scoopo . I want the deck to be completely flat so the tail is going to be pretty fat and nose will thinned out to get the front scoop/rocker. I have 11.8 OZ. which is about 350 gram/meter sq...
