Re: best foil kite for gusty conditions

I think flying technique matters way more than a specific kite, for foils some generic tips for gusty conditions (the norm where I live in the mountains). If it's gusty, look upwind for snownadoes and dodge them, they will collapse your canopy. If it's real gusty and frequently cutting out between g...

Re: New board advice? CF Raptor LTD?

Cool, it sounds like the only downside to a smaller board is light wind performance? One loop of a 20m ultralight foil and even in 5 knots you're ripped out of the water. Leaning towards the 132 at this point.

New board advice? CF Raptor LTD?

Hi Everyone! So I pretty much only snowkite and have a 10 year old anti-g kiteboard 130x39 that I use on water when traveling a few times a year, the bindings on it are wearing out and looking at boards lately, it seems like the trend has gone towards bigger boards? I weigh around 185 and have never...

Re: light wind surfboard vs foil board

I wouldn't consider 10 knots lightwind at all, if you have a really big kite. A 20m PL Aero or 21m sonic race will have you doing big floaty jumps on a 130tt in much less wind if you know how to fly it. The upper end on my 20m aero ultralight is like 14 knots lol.

Re: How to jump on Sonic? Or any foil?

If you're taller or have long arms, a trick I used to use with my sonic fr 18 is to increase the throw of the bar, I also keep it so fully pulled in stalls the kite, can be helpful when snowkiting in gusty conditions to be able to stall it a little bit when needed to get it away from the edge of the...

Re: Which kitesizes do YOU use ?

I have a 6m, 7m, 9m, 11m, 14m, 15m, 18m, 20m. All foils, 11,15,18 sonic frs, 9, 14ul, 20ul, PL Aeros. Plan on selling the Sonics now that I got the Aeros. The 20m ultralight is by far my most used on the snow (frozen lake) at 9000ft, previous most used was the 18m sonic. If kiting passes 12,000ft an...

Re: No kite pumps in CO

You could use mine if I had one but I only own and fly foils  did we meet the other day on lake dillon? I was on a 15m foil roaming around in not much wind. Snow on the lake should be good after this storm passes.

Re: kitesurfing in North Miami on Saturday?

Cool, thanks for the info everyone! I'll be down there the weekend of February 10th, only ever rode pompano down there, last time did 42 miles in 3 and a half hours on my 15m foil, was super fun. Would be cool to try some other beaches but don't have an iko card, would get one if the other spots are...

Any locals have info on the man of war? Shark migration season? Do people still ride when they are flying the purple flags?

Re: Suicide + flagout line leash combo

I was thinking about this the other day, a leash that had a 5th line setup to a mid point quick release would be good for snowkiting unhooked, I've never had to completely release the kite but could have the leash qr right on the harness and the one that activates the 5th line mid leash a foot out o...
