Re: Low budget action camera

Timothy, i got the same camera, seems built quit nice for the price. how did you mount to the kite, did you use the accessories provided with the camera? It is pretty cool how the picture is stable when guys attach it to the kite. I borrowed a camrig mount for kite struts -- definitely the way to g...

Re: Low budget action camera

I have this camera: SJ4000 action cam . It looks just like a gopro and has a clear waterproof housing like a gopro... but it is not exactly the same shape. It comes with a big pile of mounts but nothing specific to kiteboarding. If you're super price-conscious, you can get one of those knockoffs for...

Yep, looks like that guy got his knockoff gopro into a line mount. I'll look into that -- thanks.

Re: Gopro mount/connector ?

I was just about to buy one of the el cheapo line mounts from dx.com when I read this thread about how the position of the camera on the mount will cause it to swing and rotate easily. Are there any other line mounts that will hold the camera close to the lines so the camera doesn't rotate? I ask be...

Re: You need dicks and newbies or the forum dies!

Not sure how serious this thread is but, my two cents: If you want to attract new people to a forum (noobs, experienced folks, interested non-kiters, media) you've got to keep the trolls under control. People who are familiar with the forum may know about the in-jokes between trolls and the fanboy w...

I've stayed here twice and had some good lessons, too:

Re: Who's been in my shoes? Being a beginner sucks!

Hang in there! Sometimes I wonder how the heck anyone ever learned this crazy sport. What did it for me was more time on the water in a shorter time. In the spring and summer of 2013, after some lessons, I was going to the beach for a day once a month or so and making very, very slow progress, and e...

Re: Wakestyle: Bridle wraps are pissing me off on the 2014 P

On stunt kites that are designed to do slack-line tricks or roll and unroll, the bridles often have "keeper lines" that do not get any tension in flight but restrict the bridle from snagging the wingtips or spine when the bridle is slack. Not exactly sure how the concept would carry over to kiteboar...

Re: Lofting/Deadly Dragging

was to write it was not mainly about the QR but about rigging a 12m kite in a 9m weather and use it in a less friendly spot without the proper experience to handle unforeseen events then just as a quick check had a look on the rated wind range for the kite in question Rebel rated wing range.JPG the...

Re: Stoke Thread :)

WOOHOO! I had some lessons in the spring and one solo session, in which I had some short but awesome downwind rides. Then all summer, life got in the way. I spent two weeks at the beach in July, but the conditions were death for beginners: perfectly onshore wind with waves and chop, so I never even ...
