Re: Punta del Este info and advice

Yes, you will need a car. Laguna Garzon is a very nice place for flat water but it is at almost 50 km from Punta del Este. For waves you can kite almost anywhere, but one of the most used spots is Parada 31. It has a nice left, usually waist to head high. Wind is very variable. Normally ranges from ...

How many of you with these problems, are former windsurfers in waves/freestyle ?
And how many has started kitesurfing without being former windsurfers ?

Hi Peter.
I windsurfed for 20 years, until I started kiting 6 years ago.

Same here. After kiting for 6 years with C kites without a problem, last December I bought a Waroo, and 2 weeks later had a serious tendonitis in the shoulder. But I think that what caused the tendonitis was pushing the stopper away when landing a jump, more than holding down the bar. Unfortunately ...

Just buy one of the Eclipse EZ-Lock stoppers. I think they sell them separately. I personally don't like any fixed type of stopper, but the nice thing about the EZ-Lock is the ease of use both in locking it and unlocking it. I never used an EZ- lock. But from the pictures I saw, it looks like itÃÂ...

Hi Toby Nice jumps!!! Are you doing those board offs with the original Best bar? I now own a quiver of Waroos, and for some reason I find very difficult to do that kind of tricks without a powerlock or microloop. I remember that on a post, some time ago, you mentioned that you had the same addiction...

YES, you could probably rig something similar. Hi Phlow Do you have any idea about how to do that? Once you get used to the powerlock or the microloop it gets very difficult to jump without them. This season I’m using Best kites, and I thought that I would get used to the sliding s...

I can live without the one pump. I lived fine without it for the last 6 years. But having said that, I think that it would be nice to have one, if it’s not very expensive and / or complicated.

I think the most important thing to do is to TALK with the other kiter. Stay calm, depower the kites all the way, get close to each other, and try to fly them out of the tangle working together. If you can’t, then both should release the kites to the leash at the same time, and be r...

I will drag you in anytime. No mater the conditions. But, if I don’t know you, don’t count on me for rescuing your kite, unless I can do it with little risk for me and my gear.
