Re: Pocket board building

Hi, ive built solid balsa boards from 6-8mm x 100x1000mm planks. Its cheap and available in Europe from " hobby" and radio controlled airplane builder hobby supply. Problem is balsa is super soft and sucks water like a sponge, and disintegrates if it get wet. You must laminate over it to protect and...

Sent a photo to them and got another pair on warranty. First time out with new pair, this time whole foot ...

Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

I've been researching this awhile, and building boards awhile. Carbon is really stiff, but its brittle, resists impacts poorly, and once cracked will break apart. S-Glass is stiff too, but has much better tensile strength and hence less brittle and better impact resistance. E- glass is a significant...

Re: Gong pro MT first impression

Shipping and taxes are a big expense. Im in same situation when I buy from USA. The govt charges us 25% sales tax on price of item + shipping+ customs fee. Ive complained to tax authority that they are charging sales tax on a shipping service thats not in their tax jurisdiction. You can imagine that...

How much resin do you guys usually use for a hot coat? Same amount you would use while laminating? Trying to find the best weight/toughness ratio.
I use about 25% less than a lamination of same area. A bit drips off.

Re: Gong pro MT first impression

I think step from Pro M to Veloce is good amount of difference. The MT is inbetween. Much smaller step between curve M and MT than MT to Veloce M.

Re: Gong pro MT first impression

Tried the gong Pro MT wing with veloce 43 stab on 100cm carbon mast today. Flat water. My Garmin watch died due to button failure after 3 years, so don't have any speed data. But I was up to 38km/hr no problem. Overall pitch balance is very predictable. Low end speed gain without stall in noticeabl...
