@adamj2281- thanks for asking, gives me something to reminisce about! And good luck and good winds to you in your travels if you go. I went to PR last year and stayed in Isabela so was at shacks, montones, isabela beach. Shacks has a rather narrow beach but its not too hard to find a launch site, I...
Ok, so the wife wants to go somewhere for a few days in July. It's a quick trip, like 5 nights so....somewhere close to the east coast US and somewhere preferably with a bit of a rideable wave and something for her to do. Here's my options as I see them (we've been to Aruba twice, Curacao, and most ...
Agree with trying on, I tried on both, and while I like the strap system on the Ride Engine better. The Mystic Stealth was the choice based on fit, and after about 6 months of riding on it, it's one of the best pieces of gear I've bought kiting wise. Feels like having nothing on, light, and the surf...
i've been in fisherman's huts two years ago, seen some foiler. Ditto, but it looked tricky. Boca Grande, may be depending on the crowds, it's not a huge bay (the main bay). Down the shore there's spots with breaks in the reef I'm just not sure exactly where and if it's deep enough for a foil on the...
Really clicked with Hydroshort yesterday, I jumped on a larger board just for the hell of it, and then went back to the Hydroshort and worked on controlling speed on it a bit more especially on the bottom turns. I'd be interested to try it as a quad when I want a bit more grip, is anyone riding it a...
Quobbas are next level. They'll make even a wide tail board handle in big waves.
Quobbas are great, however, be careful with them on any board with a lot of channeling. I had them on my Hydroshort, and the channeling and flow off the fins was making it really squirrelly.
Reviving this thread- I've been searching for awhile too. Started roughly 8 years ago on a heavy, huge Litewave DV8 quad. Since then, 5'3 Cabrinha Spade, OR Mako/Jester, 5'9" North Whip (the old non CSC one). And now I've settled on two boards with some overlap,a 5'2" North Whip CSC,and a 5'4" Tomo ...
Yeah, I'm looking for the opposite of you, I like foiling and all, but I'd rather have waves, so Barbados is #1 on my list next year for February. In any case, I can echo Grand Cayman, also Turks and Caicos, St. Croix is another spot that is a bit less touristy and very solid winds with open bays. ...
Has anyone had a problem with stitches pulled apart? Have you? I probably have 30 to 40 sessions (who is counting...) on my roam 10 and it still looks like new. Ditto - I'm probably in the 25 session mark on my 12m Roam - a mix of session types, mostly powered up. Looks brand new. I will say the ma...
