Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

Thanks in advance for any advice. I know there have been a few posts like this before. But, I am wondering where in the world I should move to retire & kite???? A few parameters below: I am an American, U.S., so I guess this means I'm limited to 3 months in some countries? Even if I buy property? Id...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

So far it hasn't at all. I'm on a 2 month trip in Maui & it has been the windiest winter in memory. It does seem like there aren't as many tourists as usual (I spend every winter here), and not to be racist but there definitely seems to be a lack of Asian tourists - just saying not trying to offend....

Re: anybody down in La Ventana?

Looks great to me? What about tips on cost of living if you don't mind my asking? I've heard power bills are around $2-3 U.S.? Phone cards for the month are $20? Other utilities are one quarter of what they are in the states?

Would You Or Would You Not Wear Your Wifes Panties

So I am at a world class wave-kiting spot, with waves, warm water, tropical etc. etc. etc. Its basically going off. It's richter (meaning beyond epic, biblical, as good as it gets). I'm watching conditions from my van as I'm waiting for solid wind cuz I have been out for 4 days in a row & my body is...

Re: Naish's designer leaving after 15 years of success

This is a bummer for Naish. Aside from all his professional accolades, he was a nice, humble, helpful guy to me a few years back. I was on Maui 7-8 years ago at an out of the way beach with a very tricky launch, sketchy wind. Some of the locals weren't real helpful, no worries. Damien came over told...

Re: morro bay - back bay launch

California State Parks have decided to expand their ban on kite-surfing by extending the "Snowy Plover" nesting area further north to Morro Bay. IMG_3089.JPG Try Cayucos, it hooks around so north wind blows side off; you can do a pretty good down-winder to the Rock (be aware though that the swell g...

Re: February wind in Captiva Island

Love to hear more about spending time on this, or nearby islands, and kiting. I used to go to Sanibel & Captiva when I was young & loved it! I actually learned to windsurf there about 40 years ago. Wouldn't mind moving to N. Cap or Sanibel or Little Gasparilla. Would love to hear from anyone that ki...

Re: Drop Your $&@#ing Kite!

All good points. I think some of the responsibility falls on instructors. I believe a lot of these people simply don't know that is what they should do, or, they're not at the level of experience where they can control with confidence where their kite is in the window. And +1 what KGB said. I have e...

Drop Your $&@#ing Kite!

59AE8662-29FD-403F-ADE6-DEF69849CEF2.jpeg I’m on Maui, I’ve spent a lot of time here enjoying windy kite beach :cool2: I think there’s something many people simply don’t understand - when you pass closely, the downwind kiter should lower their kite!!! If you do that then 2 riders can pass closely &...

Re: I Think We Have More Drift !

G0112784.jpg Got a 2019 Naish Pivot 6. I have had the 2017's for a few years & love the kites. My favorite is the 6 meter hands down for wave riding. I don't care if I'm underpowered on it. I like having a smaller, faster kite in the surf. I rode the 2019 for one session & thought it was awesome. I...
