Re: Kite "scuff-pad" material?

You pumping up on glass or something? Rocks and coarse sand - damned abrasive stuff. Only spot having the inadequate material problem is about 1" wide on the trailing edge at the very end of center strut and each strut end on either side of the center. If you're not having this problem then the gro...

Re: Kite "scuff-pad" material?

How the hell are you pumping up your kites where this happens? Pumped plenty of rebels, vegas', and juices to never have seen this. Sand (Oregon coast & La Ventana) and river rock beach (Rufus). Every North kite I've owned had this problem. My new 2014 7m Rebel with only 7 sessions already has holes...

Re: Kite "scuff-pad" material?

I have some NSI Clear Grip Traction material - so will try that first. Seems to stick to the kite - but also peels off easily. Also no idea how abrasion-resistant Clear Grip is. Worth a try I suppose ...

So, where do I buy "adhesive-backed 3M Kevlar pads"? I've searched high and low with no luck.

Kite "scuff-pad" material?

Anyone know where to obtain the material used by North, Cabrinha, etc as a "scuff-pad" (for lack of a better description) on their kite LE and strut ends? Or the product name and source of a similar type of material? I have 2014 Rebels and unfortunately NKB does not sew a sufficient pad material on ...

Re: North wind charts

Dan, so isn't the projected area useful for calculating % differences in kite size when determining an ideal quiver for a specific rider? Isn't that a much more precise number than the given kite size (7m, 9m, etc)?

Re: North wind charts

I've observed the same with North - the listed upper-end number is too high. Another gripe I have - North no longer lists the projected area number for each kite size. That makes it virtually impossible to compare one size with another in terms of percentage (increase or decrease from one size to an...

Re: How to remove footpads?

Anyone tried WD-40 or Acetone? Again, I want to avoid any damage to the deck surface!
