Re: Hybrid wave and foil board

Here you go boys. Doesnt ding. We only wrap a towel and tape around it to ship fed ex. No worries. All great response from owners and demo riders who kite and foil this shape. Real fun in to paddlie into shoulder to head high waves. Below shoulder high? Bolt the foil on. https://youtu.be/qrUe-Dl6xg0

Re: Hybrid wave and foil board

The Spacestick Micro 5’3 is bigger than your desired 5’ but I know A few guys who will tell you its just as fun to surf and kite as it is to foil. It looks and surfs like a modern thinned out fish shape. Volume forward a bit but at only 5’3 and 2” thin it helps to have a little foam up there. Most o...

Re: Foil board options?

Also—- i agree that foamie will flex like crazy. Stiffness is necessary on a foilsurfer. And dont go too soft on your deckpads either. Eva pads diffuse energy when you push on them. Just keep them thin. Our soft shell skin is only 1/8” and wouldnt recommend higher than 1/4”. We use waxmat traction w...

Weve been trying to make a hard board with soft rails and smooth skin surface for years —so weve tried it all. Check out the thread “the fastest an...

Re: Fastest animals in the ocean are......

Thanks for mentioning weight We have to shave down 1/8” of foam on any shape—to allocate for the 1/8” skin. Foam for foam. And the skin is lightweight. Also the rails of the board dont have glass under the skin. No glass on rails removes a LOT of weight from a typical board. There is an impact resis...

Re: Fastest animals in the ocean are......

The skin doesnt have any negative effect while riding. Jim Richardson tested them on the north shore for years with the intention of making them flexible. Which is a great aspect if flex is wanted. But the layup of the glass is solid on the foilboards. I have paddle surfed various sizes with this te...
