Re: Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Most people want a fast kite, which is good in larger sizes. What about the opposite? High winds tend to punish my ingrained bar habits when sizing down from mostly flying 10m to 8m pivots. I'm considering a 6-7 for high wind days, but want to slow it down a little. What are your thoughts on 6-7m k...

Re: Found a small scuff on the toe edge of the board - am I paranoid?

Vivo, I had one of the smartass answers..it was all in good fun. Definitely nothing personal or meant to hurt...what I can tell you is that these boards are generally super resilient and can take a huge beating. I went from kicking off my board when jumping and seeing bare reef under me injuring my ...

You are screwed. That board you can just as well just thrown away. It is a lost cause.

Re: Naish Phoenix

TBF the Phoenix sounds likes it's not for me. I have an 11 and 9m Pivot and love how fast and playful the kite is, the Phoenix looks slow turning. Definitely slower turning. Feels a bit more locked in as opposed to the Pivots turning speed playfulness. I've not been able to do the low draggy tricks...

Re: Naish Phoenix

I have a 9 and a 12,. I might have gone a bit overboard (heh) on getting a 12 as I rarely go on big sizes anymore. The 9 I have had out a few times...its been a long time since I rode a TT, but the phoenix made it easy for me. Timing was a bit off as well, but even in super stormy conditions it was ...

Re: Why are girls affraid of big sizes?

Nah, never met her before, how can she hate me? I asked a female kiter for help with launching 4 times in last 2 years, from what I remember. 1 said no problem, 2 said no please ask somebody else and 1 said she wasn't keen, but since there was nobody else she helped. On the other hand I asked a mal...

Re: Which 8m Big Air kite should I buy?

I mean if you are looking at Naish kites, the phoenix works more like the edge, but still has the naish feel to it.

I personally love the 8m pivot, but the 9 phoenix is a jumper and super easy to control in high winds.

edit: of course I forgot,...Phoenix is on sale too...

Re: Why are girls affraid of big sizes?

Sometime last year, I asked a fellow kiter, who happened to be a female, if she could help me launch my kite. Since it was a light wind day most people were on big sizes and I grabbed my 17m kite. To my surprise she said, no I won't help you, the biggest kite I handle is 10m... Luckily there were o...

Re: Hand gesture for 'sorry'?

How about sending a shaka their way? I think there are different ways to show it but I think people will understand what you are trying to communicate as long as you are not showing them the finger.
