Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

I've never had a tangle with the Hybrid. If you keep your leader lines pulled over the leading edge/front of the kite and roll everything else inside the kite you shouldn't have any tangles. When you set up have the kite trailing edge with sand on it directly downwind, take the lines which you put ...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

It's very rare for Flysurfer to put the next version out so quickly. Last time was when they put out the Sonic2 in like a years time. Pissed bunch of people off. I wouldn't expect a Hybrid2 till next fall at the earliest and that would be if there's some new fabric which I haven't heard anything abo...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

I'm curious, with the increasing options for hybrid single skin kites, if there's a consensus on which is closest to a water relaunching peak (v4/v5). Off the top there's Firefly, Marabou, Alma and Hybrid. Anything come close to having a similar mix of drift/power spike in the loops? Wife is genera...

Re: Hybrid Flysurfer

why you say that, maybe it didn't backstall totally, it wants always relaunching. I would like a quite kite, super stable, relaunch, not heavy. Two years a go I had peak 13 super kite, but relaunch in deep water was very difficult, never successful in two years. The hybrid I think is the best for o...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

It seems the 2.5 and 3.5 are excellent, and have the "Peak" quailities somewhat intact in terms of acceleration and spike? And then from 5.5 and up it goes down the drain abruptly, just like Peaks over 6 m2, no fun... Makes sense  8) Peter No...while I haven't flown the 3.5m, I have flown the...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

Got a quick edit done of a Hybrid 2.5m session I did last month down here in SPI. I was VERY underpowered...around 20kts and decreasing. I would say this is the ultimate low end for me on this size and I wasn't able to stay upwind. Good video though to see how it handles and what works/doesn't work ...

Anyone here live/kite in Hong Kong?

Well it looks like finally I'll be moving back out of the states again and it's looking like Hong Kong is going to be the spot for a year or two so I'm just reaching out to see if there's anyone here that lives or regularly kites the Hong Kong area. I went to the normal spot a couple weeks ago to ch...

Re: Ozone EXP Question

Bar will swap no problem but an extra 7cm isn't going to make that much of a difference. You can first shorten the steering lines a couple cms first to see if that will speed up the turning. This will increase bar pressure and will make the foil more likely to backstall though.

Re: Kitefoil through whitewash and breaking waves

While riding over whitewater, crouch some to lower your center of gravity and try to keep your legs as loose as possible. Will help with balance and being thrown off the board.
