If you really want compact and good 'stylin' go for the Dakine Nitrous Shorts. The 'Wingnut ' wears a pair and they are comfortable, adjustable, don't restrict movement and I don't look like I'm wearing a bigass diaper. :) :0 :(

I believe its a bit easier to body drag upwind with a waist harness as your being pulled from a higher, more central location. Otherwise while body dragging with a seat harness I find you have to pull the 'rig' close to your chest to go upwind. (Otherwise you are just like a 'sea anchor') A seat har...

IMHO the best way is with a fifth line system, either factory, self installed as the safety or used only for landing and relaunch. check out the vid's on factory systems from the major players ie. Naish,Wipika etc.
