Re: Turns and more turns...

Now that's a list that everyone one would have envy to master. I'm at the stage of just trying to consistently complete jibes on a regular basis. I've become lazy doing toeside jibes most of the time. Practice,Practice, Practice!

Re: Screws loosening themselves ?

I've experienced a few situations where my mast to fuselage bolts have worked there way loose. I think most the time it's caused from unexpectedly hitting sandbars. My wings have never become loose but I never take the wings off the fuselage.I use a product called 'never cease' to help with the galv...

I agree Blackrat, it's a matter of preference and I'm at that stage where to progress further I need to get better on my less dominant stance. Practice, practice, practice!

Re: What's your dominant foot stance foiling ? Regular or Goofy foot, and How do you become proficient in both positions

Thanks for all the great advice. I know it will come together, I've just gotten complacent in carving to toeside and not switching feet. There's so much to learn in this sport and sometimes when you get those seldom epic conditions I have a tendency to want to ride the waves out all on my good side.

What's your dominant foot stance foiling ? Regular or Goofy foot, and How do you become proficient in both positions?

I'm having issues with my less dominant stance ( goofy ) specifically when I turn downwind. It just has a totally unnatural feel to it. Are there things I can do to make it easier.

Re: Help - how to tack? Especially strapless

After reading this thread this is definitely something I want to accomplish. I been foiling for 8mths now and can jibe toeside all day long but still have trouble setting up for a roll tack. I still use my front strap SB style and no back strap. When I'm powering up into the wind would it help to at...

Re: slingshot vs liquid force for beginner

I know we all have our preferences and in my case I prefer the LF foil fish for learning. I originally started out with the full length mast and then tried the shorter version ( 2ft.) which really helped solve the porpoise effect that all beginners go thru. The board has plenty of volume although th...

Re: Stance width

I'm in Mitaka's camp. I've been committed to foiling for the last 6mths and being a wave rider at heart I tend to have a narrower stance. It feels more comfortable riding waves, carving turns and going downwind. I widen my stance going to windward and increasing speed but for now my preference is jus...

Re: Kitemare on my Diablo

I was riding my LF foil fish. At first I didn't stay with the board because i was trying to water launch the kite and I let the board get away drifting downwind. Now I'll try and keep the board close by to have more options should something like this happen again. Went back out today on a downwinder...

Re: Kitemare on my Diablo

Hey thanks for the suggestions,I seem to push the low end limits of the wind a lot just to get that last session before the breeze drops completely. Now that I've experienced some of the characteristics of this particular kite, I'll try and anticipate when to start hauling ass to shore!
