Re: 2013 Naish Park

In my opinion I didn't like the 2013 Parks as much as my 2012's so I decided no to upgrade. One huge issue I had with the 2013's was their propensity to backstall when using a 2012 bar. Moreover, the 9m had an inversion issues which I think was caused by a smaller LE. Can't wait for the 2014's thoug...

Yes the canopy does stick to the water sometimes but as l...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

What is the upper end of the Cloud 17m? I'm 165 lbs and I'd say 20 knots on a twin tip is about the most you'd want to ride the 17m Cloud in. It's sweet spot is really from 7 to 12 knots above this you'd want to probably pump a smaller kite. Took me a while to find this out as I only rode the kite ...

Re: Vietnam

Yea Phu Quy rules! Was there for a week in 2009. Super strong winds, good surf, good butter in the 'skatepark'. Legit!!! The lotus ponds are stank nasty doo doo, plus the wind is gusty, unless you like kiting in sewage I would stay away If you can't get to Phu Quy, go to Phan Rang, there's some choi...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Once I get the 10m travel will be so easy. On the way to and from Panama I brought my kite in my carry on and still had room for the ipad, camera and kindle. Word.

Beginner advice: Don't be afraid to drop your kite

Over the years it seems like a big reason so many people don't progress with greater speed in kiting as they are scared to drop their kite and or lose their board. You give new and intermediate level kiters tips to learn a new trick but many are hesitant because of these factors. The tip of the day ...

Re: What will kiting look like in 2023?

I think the tube LE might be gone and 3 line kites will be in vogue. Plus we will have configurable kite sizes and kites that adjust better to how you want to ride that day ie freestyle vs surf. Also canopies will get lighter and tougher. Just wonder if the sport will die like windsurfing has
