Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I got my Spitfire with both sets of wings. I'm very happy I got both. For the most part if I'm in the ocean or riding waves I'm on the XLW wings. In flat water I typically ride the standard wings.

The XLW require very little kite power but you need to be a bit powered for the standard wings.

Re: Why not more canards ?

I've been riding the Spitfire exclusively for a little over two months. I haven't found anything negative about the design. Only positives.

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I gave the Lickity Spit (standard Spitfire rear wing + XLW front wing) a go today in flat water. Works surprisingly well!!! Better turning then the XLW wings, almost the same take off speed, but much faster. The XLW is a bit slow in flat water but the Lickity Spit was fun. My initial impression was ...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

The Spitfire with XLW wings would be great to learn on since it starts early and stays on a plane at very low speeds. It is also much safer when you crash than a traditional hydrofoil since it automatically heads nose down into the water unlike a traditional hydrofoil that tend to shoot out the wate...

Re: Skimboard foils

I have been riding the Nobile Skim Foil as my main board for the last six months or so. I'm really happy with the board. Decent price, nice length, good width under the front foot, decent amount of nose rocker, and a nice amount of flotation for my Zeeko White and Black and Zeeko Spitfire foils. Onl...

Re: line length for Hfoiling in >15 knots

I use 20m lines in all wind strengths on 3.7m to 10.4m kites.

Re: Has anyone gone totally hydrofoil?

I'm pretty much 100% hydrofoil for the last year from 9 kn to 30 kn.

Only take out a wave board if waves are really good, too big, or if the water is too shallow.

My Spitfire with XLW is silent at all speeds.

Re: concave deck - how much is to much?

The deck on my Nobile Skim Foil is concave under the front foot (1/4" / 6mm) and flat under the rear foot. I really like the feel of this deck for foiling.

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I'm 1 year into foiling and 3 sessions in on the Spitfire with XLW wings. I haven't ridden the Spitfire back to back with my Zeeko Carver but I would say they are very similar to each other regarding take off speed and speed while riding. I'd say the XLW wings are fast enough not to be boring and sl...
