Re: Recommended Line Length for 3m LEI

Of course I use thin race lines already, the hottest SK99 stuff from LIROS :cool2: What do you mean with "high performance kite" ? As I hate foil kites I normally fly a 7m² Slingshot Machine (with 24m race lines). But is it really a high performance kite ? Not compared to race foil kites. On the oth...

Re: Recommended Line Length for 3m LEI

I forgot that I have a video on facebook, where I ride the 3m Rally GT in 5-6 Bf. This time even the 30m lines were not long enough :) https://www.facebook.com/tilmann.heinig/videos/272351215154328 But in general these small kites are so fast and quick turning that you can generate extreme power by ...

Re: Recommended Line Length for 3m LEI

Re: Recommended Line Length for 3m LEI

I also have a 3m Rally GT and I use it with 30m lines. The longer the lines the easier small kites are to handle and the better you get through lulls by sinussing.

The question is how thin and how much pressure.
Diameter: 4-5 % of the chord
Pressure: 50 PSI (which is right in the middle between a car and a bike)

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

And it is not that certain kites become better if LE diameter is made smaller and pressure increased. It's not a new idea at all, about 15 years ago first thin LE kites (with partially dyneema LE) became available They pumped it with a normal pump - that means that the pressure was not higher than ...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Interesting basic studying of high pressure tubes and well executed to be able to take that much pressure. Though that kite is somehow butchered now, after taking struts off and making crude modifications to canopy shape... One main reason why current kites are so effective is they are designed and...
