Re: Gear prices vs discounts vs free/sponsored gear

LOL nice try Switch gorilla marketing attempt No marketing attempt, I'm not even consistent with buying my gear from a single brand: I use Cabrinha kites because that's what I started with. My foil is a liquid force that I got cheap from someone that was selling it, and my my strapless board is fro...

Gear prices vs discounts vs free/sponsored gear

Hi all! I've been riding Cabrinha kites since I started kiting some 3 years ago, mostly because it's what I learnt on and the quality seems OK (apart from the minor quirks with their bars). Since stating, I've gotten 4 bars, and 5 kites. 1 kite from a school (almost new), 3 new at almost full price,...

Who has ridden the LF low aspect wings and switched to mid aspect wings?

Hi!! Basically, anyone here went from the foil fish/rocket foil to the happy foil, or changed the low aspect wings to the mid aspect wings? I'd like to know: - If they're much difficult to ride and gybe than the low aspect wings. - If they're much faster, as in a completely different league. - How's...

Re: Wil there be innovation in 2018??

+1 on hard harnesses and foils Was is 2015 or 2016 where the Cabrihna bars sunk in brackish/fresh water, and barely floated in saltwater? Pretty sure it's the first year they went to the adjustable ends. I believe it's the 2015, with the strap trim. The 2016 I can't comment since I only used those ...

Re: Wil there be innovation in 2018??

I hope some brands focus more on refining/fixing what they have instead on going for innovations that will not be convincing and/or will bring other issues. Cabrinha, hopefully can get out a bar that just works and doesn't have any recall (or a not recalled problem). F-One could probably add a worki...

Re: Safety Alert: Cabrinha 2017 Power Bracket Seat Replacement

Any word on the new plastic piece/fix? Does it solve the issue or too early to tell for sure? Please note the recall doesn't fix the issue of the line fraying/getting damage. Check the line when doing the swap, if it's frayed/worn you need to replace the bungee line and the lower front line segment...

Re: Shorter Depower Travel : B setting Cabrinha

On the B setting the turning speed is not less, this is a misconception. You will have to pull harder on the bar, but it will turn fine. Kite won't turn faster or slower in either setting as long as you are insistent on moving it! I have 9m drifter. 12m switchblade and 12m fx, these are my experienc...

Re: How many kites one needs?

At the rate I'm going through kites since starting on this sport.... 90 is quite feasible hahahaha Don't even start with boards: - Two twintips, one for flat and one for chop - Surfboards: 1 for small/med surf, 1 for big surf, 1 for jumping and boosting - Foils: 1 for speed, one for carving, and dif...

Re: Typical HF Learning curve

I didnt say that you have to win anything, if you put yourself inside a F1 you will be able to drive it , just not fast enough to win anything Probably not, F1 cars need a certain amount of speed to keep everything in working condition. Not enough speed: not enough temp for the brakes to work, tire...
