Re: Advise on new quiver from Liquid Force, Cabrinha or Airu

Without reading all of the above here, this is my 2 cents on a quick comparison. LF- if you are on a budget this will probably be the cheapest option, but I would advise airush or cab over LF. especially the Solo for the big kite. Lot of loose material and flutter with just 1 single strut. Maybe loo...

Re: Which kites 4 me?

Cab FX seems like it would fit your needs perfectly....It's pretty much halfway between a C kite and your average allrounder kite and it loops like a champ, unhooks well and is basically (at least marketed) as a freestyle oriented kite....Ive ridden a couple different size of it actually, and ill ag...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 2016 vs 2015

Both are very similar, I think Cab has always done a good job at slowly improving the Switchblade and not making a radical changes to it. Flying both I do like the 2016 better, it turns a bit faster and also has less lag at the bottom of the turn flying forward nice without much stall at all. Suppos...

Re: Skillit 2014 durability?

I love the 2014 skillet, the white/blue one, right? I have the 5'6" and do lots of strapless jumping and the boards don't dent and are light, but it is a surfboard and any surfboard can break so I think that is just part of any purchase you have to realize. The are really nice on a wave as well, jus...

Re: Suggestions for a boots-only kiteboard?

I've been riding the cabrinha custom with boots for a few years now. Just got the 2015 and have really been liking it. Like you said, you need a board that is good in chop but still goes up wind well. Lots of board designed for boots have sooooo much rocker and bottom shape that they end up being pr...

Re: Cabrinha Overdrive 1XL bar with Switchblade 12m?

Try it, if you don't like it get the regular bar! It will work but, your 9m will look pretty small way up there, and I do think its nice to have a little smaller bar in-front of you if your not on a huge kite. Nice to have a 2nd as backup anyway and then your bars get about half the use and stay a l...

Re: Cabrinha SB (stopper)

With the cabrinha bars having a single tubing line as the depower main line there is not a way to put an adjustable stopper on it as it cannot clamp between the 2 center lines that some brands have. I came from riding airush and was used to a stopper as well, but it only took me about one session to...

Re: Newbie from New Jersey

Hey Jose- If you are heading east toward Sandy Hook check in with Green Hat kiting, a know they do lessons and some cool boat trips out into the bay. Also there are some good spots in LBI and if you look up island surf and sail there they will give you some more info. Lots of good spots on the coast...
