Re: PLKB Leopard V3 with Ozone snow bar v4

Hi, everyone. I am preparing some Arctic solo crossing expedition next year. I practice snowkiting with my Ozone CONTACT SNOW V4 & explorer V2 10m Therefore, I need one light wind kite, thinking about - Peter Lynn Leopard V3 Snowkite and one strong wind kite - Peter Lynn LYNX V5 Kite I would like t...

Re: Advice needed please

Second what Matteo V said. Also, no amount of harness is going to completely offset a vulnerability in a weak shoulder. Even if the kite itself doesn't produce a dislocation, an impact potentially will. Strengthen the hell out of the shoulder capsule and supporting structures. Do the prep work and a...

Re: Top hat safety - rigging a flag line

Don't attach anything to the stall handle/brake. It's messy, doesn't improve safety function and causes more problems than it solves You can junk the top hat safety and add a FLS (front line safety) with minimal effort and cost. A stopper ball, a stainless ring, possibly repurpose the line from the ...

Re: Ozone Access 12m vs Ozone Explore 12m

Hi all, I'm looking for a depowerable foil kite for my Dad to use in light winds on a buggy. He's a competent beginner/ low intermediate kiter, but needs a kite that will be forgiving and inspire confidence (that's why I've ruled out other more high-performance kites). He will be using the kite onl...

Re: Low aspect open cell vs. single skin

There are bunch of diffent open cell snowkites on the market. While i understand the performance advantage of a high aspect kite or the versatility of a hyperlink, i am not sure what a low aspect open cell can do that a single skin kite can not do better. Is it because some people expect a new vers...

Re: What type of skis for kiting?

Oh I do plan on taking lessons for sure. :thumb: Learning to snowkite on a board or skis, if you have kiting experience is fairly straightforward. I've taught buggy riders with no skiing experience how to ride skis with the kite in about 2hrs. But they had top-notch flying skill. Learning to pilot ...

Re: Gin Marabou - Single-surface Kite

Same general concept as the Shaman 3 or Peak 4 or Ozone Explore. Lightweight, compactable, durable easy to transport and possessing a broad wind range. But unlike the Shaman, Peak or Ozone, it has a closed cell leading edge to allow for water relaunch. The Marabous I've sold have gone to people who ...

Re: Becoming a Kitesurfing Instructor

Doing lessons is fun, until its not. I met many cool people and made many good friends. Even a couple girls😉 When you get someone that doest listen its a nightmare. Older men are the worst. They don't listen well, know everything, think they are stronger than the kite, or are overconfident. Communi...

Re: New to kite flying

If you are serious about learning, take lessons. Shorten the learning curve and train on someone else's gear instead of wrecking your own. Learning on your own can be hazardous at worse and slow and leaving you as a perpetual intermediate at best. Buy be sure that you get a good instructor with expe...
