slingshot sst

Postby dkazhdan » Thu Nov 08, 2018 2:43 am

hi
Just bought a 2017 slingshot sst and been wondering, what do i attach my pump leash to?
there seems to be no pump leash attachment loop on the kite...
also, how do I drift launch the thing? I normally attach my leash to the kite whikle dragging it out to the deep water, but with the SST there's nothing to attach the leash to?

could those who have had an SST share their experience, please? appreciated

Been there, asked the same question. There is a tiny webbing loop - by the inflation valve I think. The slingshot pump has a hook that fits it. I just added a 15cm pigtail to that loop.

(Great kites, but they seem a bit obsessed with keeping all pigtails as short as possible. For example, you have to crawl under the kite to connect the front lines.)

Not if you are setting up lines upwind.

tried the SST for the first time using a cabrinha trimlite bar. For some reason, it feels like the kite tends to back stall on me. do you guys think its a bar compatibility issue or the overall tendency specific to SST? thanks

Cabrinha lines are notorious for a detuned bar, their front lines stretch and their back lines shrink....

Make sure your bar is tuned right

That being said my sst that had many hours on it, the bungees were stretched out on the bridal by like 1-2cm...this is my main kite and I will put 4 hours a day a couple of days a week on it...

So it did backstall with a perfectly tuned bar a little, that’s alright I depowered it a smidge to prevent backstall for a couple of days but then decided to just replace the bungees after I compared the new one to the old bungee...they have a pair of bungees that come with the kite
