Where to go in January??

Where do you guys think would be the best place to take a kiting vacation at the beginning of January. I don't care if it is a 5-star hotel, or a bungalow on the beach. I just want a place that I can kite everyday with consistent wind, and preferably walk to the beach from my hotel.

Any ideas?

Nick - Vietnam has two very active clubs in Mui Ne, about a 4 hour bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City. Everything in Mui Ne is right on the beach and the wind in January is ferocious and absolutely unrelenting. The water tends to be rough but there are many undiscovered flat water and wave breaks to be found all along virtually undiscovered coast (check out the gallery under Asia/Vietnam for some pix). The water is clean, boardshort warm with not a chance of rain for the whole month (the dry season normally sees about 6-8 months without rain in Mui Ne). Bring a small kite (20-30 knots is average for this time of year) unless you're a big guy. Bungalows on the beach can be had for $10 a night at the low end to $150 a night for the best digs in the place, probably not right at New Years, but shortly after. Barbados....
Weather + wind will be excellent in January.
Stay at Silver Rock hotel (Silver Sands) and walk the massive 10 feet to the kiting beach. Or contact Steve at 'Mike's Bar' (which is 5 minutes away)...he looks after Coral Sands hotel...which is much cheaper than Silver Rock.
