OK, I just found some news on kitesurfing-kiel.de.
My Deutsch is not that good but from what I understand Adam Koch did an amazing fat jump lasting 11-12 secs on an Aero II 18 !!!!

Somebody is supposed to have that filmed !

Bloody hell, Toby, can you confirm :o

PKRA WORLD TOUR IN FEHMARN, GERMANY IS ANSWERED BY THE WIND GODS AND FINAL RESULTS ACCOMPLISHED!

(August 31, 2003-Fehmarn, Germany)- A welcome sunny morning, accompanied by wind, from the West graced the island shores, allowing an early 11am start to the Freestyle Singles ladder. Sunday afternoon crowds gathered to witness a spectacular performance by PKRA pros! The event site was charged with energy with this final chance for results!

In the first round for the men, Adam Koch USA caught an unusual wind tunnel while mid-air of a jump and astounded everyone with an amazing 13.2 seconds suspension over 35 feet up! A roar from the spectators resounded on his safe landing! This hang-time is an unofficial new World Record, the current Official World Record for men is 8.86 seconds.

Side-shore winds held throughout the day, though with some variance in its strength, 12-15 knots at the start, building, at times to 18-23 knots. Requiring riders to have their arsenal of kites at the ready. The Singles ladder was complete by 6pm, and with a 20-minute transition, a start to the Double Elimination ladder began. Results from all completed heats will stand in the final ranking. Unfortunately the winds died back, and the first heat was abandoned.

Yep Koch stayd in the air that long or longer**, everybody, Koch included did not expect this. I guess it was a gust that hit him, and then or just before, dunno, he looped his kite. It was incredible, he went up, up and up, then he went down a little.....

and he went up again (First kiteloop?) then he went down.... a little....

AND HE WENT UP AGAIN, WHOEHAAAAAAA, the crowd and I went  :thumb: (second kiteloop?)

Maybe at hangtime competitions, the competitors should practice looping the kite right above their head, for extra hangtime :P

** I wonder who measured the 13 dot something time that acurately, was he/she measuring hangtime on all jumps? again, It looked not as a planned MEGA jump, but it was handled in great style :D

Djavin:

the jump got caught on video, therefore we know the time!!!!

Wait until, I assume tomorrow, for the great video showing the 360 of the kite above his head!

Unbelievable jump, everyone who saw it is just hyped about it!!!

hey guys, what about more info of the comp. How was the judging? Any unusual tricks, any new hot shots, new gear, close calls, what else apart from Adam's jump?

The info so far seems to be stock from the PKRA site. I for one am interested in this type of thing. Can we have a better account in the news section please? Would be great. Thanks, eli
