A Radical board = concave holds current kite speed world record.
That´s practise. Those who have been in Windsurfing before know, that
all boards in speed contests had and have a monoconcave.
Concaves seemingly do something in favour of speed, don´t they ??

In theory, concaves creates lift (when riding flat). They force the water release at the edges downward. I think that at most they soften the ride. Faster? Not really but If you feel in control you could push it harder.
I was involved in custom sailboards shaping for many years. I saw concaves going in and out in a fashion-wise cycle. They are not bad, they are not magic. In some shapes, a concave has its place.
In the long run, simple is better.
I like it flat.[/list]

concave smoother, and therefore lets you tank it faster in control, but i dont think its faster perse'
