Hello Guys,
3 more questions...

- What about kiting in Honolulu beach? is it possible?
- How far and how long does it takes to go to kailua from Honolulu?
- What about the North Shore? summer the waves should not be that big?

Thank You Jankie

There is no "Honolulu" beach, maybe you mean Waikiki Beach. You need Southerly (Kona) wind for Waikiki, which only happens in the Winter. There has been a fair bit of contraversy about kiting in Waikiki, and several "near misses" between kiters and beach goers. Not a good place for you to go. The few other launches on that side of the island are pretty dangerous due to shallow reefs and other obstacles.

Kailua is about 30 to 60 minutes from Honolulu, depending on what time of day (rush hour).

During trade wind season (summer), the winds at the North Shore are blowing off-shore. No kiting except at Mokes, and as others have said, Mokes is an "experts" only spot because of the shallow reef.

As I (and others) have said, the best spot to kite on this island is Kailua. It may be crowded, but if you are respectful of other beach goers and work your way outside of the crowd while on the water, you can have a great time there.

Paul
