FUEL'07 - 4 line

Postby high as a kite » Fri Jun 15, 2007 4:15 am

Anyone out there flown the '07 Fuel on 4 lines? thinking of 11 or 13m.

I'm not interested in the 5 line, had a kitemare on 5th line last year and will never use one again.
Yeah I know it's easier to relaunch, better in the gust etc .

I would like to know what you guy's think of the performance on 4 line?

Anyone know what will be the differences between '07 & '08 Fuel?

I believe if you see any pictures of Ruben riding, you'll find he rides in 4 line mode. So you know it works.

A friend road the '06s in both modes and found that the 5th does make a difference (kite flew better), but I guess if you never use it you won't notice the difference. In short, you're fine with or without it. Go get 'em! :thumb:

I ride a 13m 07 fuel on 4 lines no worries

It is one of the very few kites that keeps its shape without a 5th line for 07 as it has a thick leading edge that keeps the canopy stiff when pumped hard, and therefore the pull is predictable not random wobble jelly pull like other 07 kites would be without a 5th line/thick/stiff leading edge.

The 08 fuel is going to be a bow kite with 24 aerodynamic hyper battens, one pump, torque bridle system (tm), 6th line and supplied with special bladder installation kit, depower replacement toolkit and built in electric pump.

but seriously I would ride an 03 04 05 06 or 07 fuel - the newer ones just fly off the front lines a bit more and so have more depower

I heard there will be 26 battens and the pump is going to be solar powered.

i have an 11m 07 and i find that on 5th line its a way better kite, more lift, range and faster turning. I rekon if your kiting perfect conditions it wouldnt matter too much but if the winds a bit light or a bit strong or a bit gusty that 5th line trim is a real treat. Seems these days that the fuel is the only kite that can actually fly with out 5th line, the torch, vegas etc. are very depenable on the 5th

HOLLY SHIT
haha when i read the bow kite part i almost faint... haha

i use my fuel with 4 lines, also because of a 5 lines bad expirience. The freaking leash pulled the line out and i got tangled in the lines... luckily i had see the 2006 fuel vid like a million times and could figure everything out in the water.

the performance with 4 lines is sick... im planning on using 5th line when im a little more expirienced though.

cheers
