ion 2 or waroo 08????????????

i,ve decided to go back to a 4 line kite & have been checking out the new ranges of kites
looking at a 13m & 10m hp &7m or 14.5 &10.5m &8.5m quiver
a lot of dealers have cut price the 07 ion 2 , so its now the same price as the waroo.
i,m not looking further than these 2 brands.
what do reckon ion 2? or waroo 08?
i know there both good , but just wanted to know other peoples opinions.

The 08 Waroos are awesome kites this year with a kickass warranty. Quality-wise the Ion2's can't be beat but the Waroos will give you the best bang for the buck.

I`ve not had the pleasure of trying the 08 9m waroo yet but I do know from personal experience that the Ion2 8.5 is 1 sweet little kite....

More grunt/lift that the 07 9m waroo and turns faster aswell....

I agree, I like the Ion2 8.5 better than the 2007 9m Waroo. The 2008 Waroo edges it out I think.

That's an interesting question.
I bought my 2008 9m Waroo off of Singlemalt.
The other kite I was looking at was the 8.5m Ion2. I flew the Ion2, it is great.
The new 9m 'roo is great too. So both kites rock.

If it were me, I would pick the one you feel will be best warrantied and has best resale value for you. The kites tied in my mind in terms of performance, for my particular style of riding. My decision came down to warranty and resale. Odds of needing a warranty on a Flexi are low. Therefore resale was the issue.
I was going to pay a higher price for the Flexi in my situation, it's resale locally isn't that great relative to the new price I was going to pay. The waroo is the opposite, in my location.

Go with what feels right, you won't lose either way, imo.
Best has a bar. I guess the 2008 bar isn't out, but the 2007 works fine.
I actually use that bar on all my kites, Best or not.

I've had 2 warranty issues with my flexifoil Ion2's
1) a 5th line bridle mod 12.5 which I waited till last week to address
and it's already finished.
2) a bladder issue 2 days before I left for a Hatteras trip
My dealer contacted his Flexifoil rep and he had one sent to my condo
the day I arrived.
I'm completely satisfied

Cant comment on Waroo but I have had a 14.5 and 10.5 Ion2 for about 8 months now. I normally fly them 4 line and love them you can fly them 5 line which gives them a bit more grunt but the four line is a lot less hassle and I have found them to be powerful for their quoted sizes. Quality has been great customer service from flexi has been fantastic (I lost one part of the five line bridle and they replaced it quickly without charge). They have improved my riding by about 25% The downside of the power is I realize I need a smaller kite for the 35 knot days
