Looking for some info on the RPM kite. Anyone tried and tested? Does 3 struts support a high aspect kite or will the canopy buckle in certain winds?

yh man 3 struts is fine i like 5 struts more, but you have less weight with 3 and less pumping time, i would probably buy the rpm in a small size or medium but not as the lightwind kite. but yh relaunch is the same, 3 struts just tends to be low aspect.

Yes, 3 is enough. But adding a firm/large LE and a Full Suspension Bridle that helps stabilized the kite in powered up conditions is a added bonus... With all kites there is movement in the canpoy but it doesn't shake like a wet dog.

Check the Vimeo video out on the RPM. The guy riding in the video not the photo weight's in about 230lb.

Yes 3 struts are enough. I have an 8M, 10M & 12M and all of these kites fly extremely smooth and predictably. No bad habits. None of that trash bag flutter noise you hear from some other kites. Just clean, smooth delivery of power. They are fantastic all around kites that excel in waves, wake and freestyle. The adjustment options on the kite are sick-speed, bar pressure and low end adjustability. This has to be the most versatile kite ever. It works and its easy to tune to whatever you want or need given the conditions or preferred riding style. Speed, low-end, top-end, de-power, relaunch, float (downwind wave riding), boost, hang-time, hooked, unhooked and build are superlative. Just get a demo and look the build over and take it for a spin and you will know.

If you lay the RPM over say an 09 Fuel or Rev you will quickly see why this kite only has three struts, there is no room or need for 5. The stiff wingtips are effectively the 4th and 5th strut, beyond that where the wing tip would normally be there is nothing but lines.
The best kite that SS have made, ever, in my opinion.

Many thanks for the quick posts...all is clear now and just had to ask the question. Im going 12-8-6. Think this should cover for Uk and 4 weeks in Barzil?!

And the board? Misfit?

No time or places to test in North England so will take the gamble. Im trusting the guys to do the job!..the winds blowing and I need to get wet!

Many thanks and if anyone else has opinions or pointers on setting up this kite please keep posting.

Really interested in hearing how you get on out in Brazil... Having made the tragic mistake of leaving Slingshot for North I'm eager to get back onto the Slinger's
