Just checked out my bar tonight and it is dry and I am not able to make any black smudge mark at all. Even rubbed white towel over it. Must be the tanning butter making it smudge.

Yes mine is ok when dry but as soon as salt water gets on the depower line the black is evident.

I also have this grease problem on my Cab bar as well as my buddy who has Cab bars (both 2016 and 2017). Super hard to get it off after a session! Our theory was that the grease was leeching out of the BTB line unspinner and getting on the bar and plastic center line covering. Pretty annoying to have your hands covered in grease after a session.

Must not be an isolated problem.........

Maybe, I am not cleaning it properly. Maybe, I am leaving it on the beach and sand is getting into the grease washers and sea water is washing the grease out of the bar. Probably should order some more grease to replace the washed out grease so I don't get a prematurely worn out flux compacitor pinion gear..................

The black ink comes from the below the bar stopper / swivel. Constant contact and rubbing of this part with the lower part of the bar will release the ink and it will travel up through the de power line and into your hands. The will also make your bar look old and dirty very quickly!!

I noticed this since when im properly powered it doesn't happen cause I have less of a tendency to have the bar all the way in hitting the stopper.

Now, after many more sessions I see its a bit worn out and surprisingly it releases less ink, so I guess it's just the outer layer???

Obviously only guys here on kf. A cabrinha girl would end this thread immediately.
I could do it to but I will leave you with the girl hint. Its been long since the black bothered me.

Come to think of it, I wonder if there are health issues involved with the smudge... :-?

I have now posted some videos. These are on the 2016 and more concerning the 2017. Problem still not rectified since 2012.
