G'day Folks,
I would kindly appreciate any feedback on Ghana for water sports?
I am an Aussie looking at relocating to Accra and was wondering about local shops, spots and the most importantly, the wind? If thats to hard, what nearby travel to other local?
Besides a surfboard, I have 9m xbow3 and 14m Contra and twin tips, I was thinking of getting the Ozone Zephyr for the 10kt mark and maybe a SUP?
Cheers

Hi
I live in Nouakchott, Mauritania, 'just' up the coast from Accra though i'm afraid i haven't got any good info on Accra kiting but will ask around here to see if anyone knows anything.
Mauritania is great for wind though the water is a little choppy but we have a 750km coastline and about 15 kiters so there's at least lots of space!
I know that you can kite down in senegal though the wind is less strong and i suspect that it may just get worse as you head down the coast. There is a listing for Accra on windguru though it's not looking too windy right now.
If i hear anything i will let you know.

hi gazman
as i remember it from my sailor experience 15 or so years ago there are only two seasons there. it is a tropical climate, so the rainy season and the dry season. at Accra it rains cats and dogs from april to november with squalls usually afternoon.
dry season is usually for your biggest ever kite if at all.
not good for kiting at all
good thing the people was very friendly then. there is no some crazy tribal or religious hatred.
