I put an 8m through the ringer for a couple of hours and was impressed with it. The best description I can give is it's a more refined version of the 2010. Very quick relaunch, bar pressure is about the same, very stable while unhooked, stays parked very well, lot's of power through the turns, loops tight, handled the gusts very well, lot's of grunt. It's a solid well rounded kite that I would be happy to own.
Have you flown earlier Havocs before? I have a 2010 8 and really like it. Like any other kite it takes a little bit to get dialed in but once you do you will really appreciate how sweet it is. Jumps, unhooked, waves the kite is solid. Great build quaility. Extra stitching, high grade pulleys compared to some kites that use low end Ronstan ones. The bar is simple and clean with no metal bits except for the center line ring. I removed the centerline bungee and ride 90% depower with the leash on the trim. More room for the lines through the bar. Some have critisized that you can lose the chicken loop if you release the safety. If you run your leash through the chickenloop the problem is solved. Minor complaints-I wish the bag had a spot for the pump. Also I wish the bar had a swivel for the center lines. I think you will be really stoked on the Havoc but as always its best to demo if you can. Some people like the Envy better. Charlie
