105 pounds? wow thats light,, you will only need smallish kites, lucky you, the best kite for you? who knows? your instructor would be best placed to answer that one, he will see if your a gutsy sporty fit type, or a whimp, kites for all but all kites are different,
if you give us a bit of your background in sports, fitness, attitude, age,sex. sailing location, beach condition,waves or not, lagoon to learn in of shore break hell.
there is a best kite for a combination of a collection of these elements.

There isn't really a "best" beginners kite as there are so many good kites out there. All the big manufacturers have a kite designed or suited to beginners but general rule of thumb stick with the big names and preferably go with a brand that is sold local to you incase you ever need spares/warranty/customer support.

I'd steer clear of the really beginner learner kites that some manufacturers offer as they have lower resale values and you'll quickly outgrow them.

As far as Best goes, they make great kites with proven reliability and performance, I think the Waroo will be great for you, or even the Taboo if you are more adventurous

A beginner tends to crash their kite a lot, so getting a kite that practically relaunches itself would be a significant consideration. If you're interested in Best brand, I'd suggest the Kahoona. For a Cabrinha kite, I'd suggest the Convert. I'm not real familiar with a lot of the other brands.

Any delta shape kite will work great for a beginner - super easy relaunch , very stable and forgiving, and big range. I'd suggest to get a 7m to 9m kite (depending on your location / wind conditions).

I have very good experience with Best Kahoonas for beginners.. It's a great , simple , little kite (7.5m) . We've gone through about 2 dozen of them at my school in the last two seasons and have not had a single issue. Price is right too.. especially with the current promotion Best is having , you can get a complete 7.5 with bar for $798.

I teach with the Epic Renegade and have heard great feedback from students that have bought the kite. Great relaunch (almost too easy), amazing stability in the air... there are loads of reviews on this kite on this site.

we use them here in Playa Copal Costa Rica....they are easy to relaunch, durable, stable(even the 5m) and yet, we can ride them and have fun..(loops, ect...)
