Those reviews are for Phu Qui and not Phu Quoc. I was on Phu Quoc end of January 2009 and there was not a breath of wind, I'm not sure if it's ever kitable there. Very nice place to just be a tourist though.

Omg Phu Quy sounds unreal. Forget Phu Quoc. I only have a month left on my visa anyway, so Mui Ne and Phu Quoc is prbly too much to do. Been two months in Vietnam and still haven't unpacked my kitegear! :-? Lmk if you want to hook up in Mui Ne or Phu Quy. I'm traveling alone…

Thanks for all the info!!!

Kitesurfing is only possible in the Vung Bau Beach area during the dry season November to March. It is the only area that has little to no boat traffic.

You can learn more about Phu Quoc here: http://www.phuquocislandguide.com

Currently, as of 2015, there are no kitesurfing outfitters on the island. Most people who kitesurf in vietnam usually do it in either Da Nang or Nha Trang.

Kitesurfing on Phu Quoc is possible but you will need to bring your own gear. There isn't any kite school/shop on the island - I've asked many people as I was looking to buy a pump. The wind is light so you need to make sure to check the forecast beforehand.

Anyways I kitesurfed on Phu Quoc on Sao Beach and here is my proof
