I used to go to the Magawish when it was quite smart in the early 90s, (windsurfing back then) then stopped using the Magawish around 2005 when it was very tatty and smelly, can't knock the spot at Colona watersports, bang on the beach right in front of the Magawish,
great for windsurfing, kite boarding and now I use a kite foil board, it would be great for this as well as it's deep a few yards from shore,
only down sides for me would be the lack of waves which are needed for maximum foil enjoyment, and the fact my wife won't go there now after all the security scares.
Shame, as I have many happy memories of holidays in Egypt since the mid 1980s (always sailing)

Need to say that Magawish is pretty gusty close to shore.
Outside in the water it is fine.

Have Just returned from Egypt, on the Sinai Peninsula.

While didn't take my foil. stayed at RasSudhr, @the Kite Buzz, the place is ideal for foiling, miles of open water, chest deep and steady wind.

Hatem, Lina & Marwa are great hosts and the crew very friendly.

Beach boys give great service, bar is always open, wind and water warm, am sure you would enjoy the verandah, I did.

its hot, very hot, mostly too hot to walk on the sand in bare feet, once on the water it cools down and you don't notice the heat at all, but a walk along the beach in no cooling wind is torture without head cover or sand shoes, 40c can be cool on some days in summer. on windless day its best to stay poolside at the hotel so you can keep dipping in every 15 mins to cool down,
phew! I am getting hot just thinking back to it.
sunbathing on the beach requires a full size beach brolly to keep you shaded.

Weather this weekend in Egypt,
Forecast is temps in excess of 40c.
They make great cooling down beer, Stella, best beer available.
Not sure if it works, but you forget about the heat !😎
