Has anyone here ever broken q-power line? I have had mine for a few years now and still bomb-proof. My old lines would only last 1 - 1 1/2 seasons.

Q-power rules!

Just remember to only use figure-8 knots for the ends. I tested using granny knots and they did break. But never with figure-8.

i'll add my voice in support of the q-power. first set lasted 5 years. no breaks, no tangles, etc. for safety, i replaced them a couple of years ago. again, no problems. love the q-power. i use 300lb lines on my rears, and 600lb on the fronts, on peter lynn kites.

The initial cost for lines is going to be similar, so go with the lines that last longer. That is where you will realize a savings.

Q-power are still a bit less expensive because you can get 6 lines out of a $140 spool of Q-Power. This means for $280 (2 spools) you can get 3 sets of lines(four line kite) that last at least twice (guesstimate based on my experience) as long as the lines you get from Kite companies. Because Q-power lines last twice as long, you are effectively paying ~$47 ($280/3 sets = $94 then $94/2) for the same amount of use you get out of a $150 set of lines you buy from a kite company.

Saving $103 per a set of lines is significant in my opinion.

For kiting in the winter Q-power lines out perform all other lines. Regular lines can get ice blobs between strands which weaken the lines causing breaks, which is a Bitch when your in the air or way out in the field with 3ft of pow. Also lines are bright and seem to resist cutting by ski and snowboard edge.
Never in 10yrs have I broke a Q-line.
Dyleema line does not have to be sleeved when fidden back in to itself and sewn.
