What are the best mounts for kiting? Im thinking the head strap for first person and the surf board mount.. What do you think/use?

I think the line mounts that Jim Stringfellow makes are the best. You get some great angles from up high.

Hit him upon Puget Sound forum. He is awesome.

Agreed, None better than Jim Stringfellow's Go-Pro mounts!

Don't use the Surf Board mount on a Twin Tip! I tried this and any heavy impact (Wave or Jump) would knock the camera forward and all you see is the board. Very frustrating.

I did as anyone would and tightend the fixing screw as much as possible. This just resulted in snapping the mounting lugs on the waterproof housing. :(

See the last 8 images in the following link:

To my opinion that's the best and most versatile mount. It should be commercially available in 2-3 months. If interested I can email you when it is ready

I just bought the Camrig Strut Mount a couple of weeks ago. It works great! It is a little pricey, but then again it probably took several iterations for the guy who made this to get it right.

It is pretty hard to make a video using just one camera. I would suggest at least three. I know that sounds crazy, who has the money for three go pros, but without a aerial, board, and chase boat perspective, the video will always look pretty amateurish. Head-mount is ok, but it gets old pretty quickly in videos.

Here is a sample video I took with the Camrig Strut mount. I ran it through iMovie and put some stabilization on it, but that is all. Yeah, I know, the rider is lame (me) but you can get an idea of what the shots look like on a GoPro Hero2 at 1080p wide:

for photos I like the line mount most. But for video it 's quite a hassle because the cam moves with the lines. check some pictures here http://www.picasaweb.google.com/1080252 ... arete2012#

The following video was taken on one of our first prototype systems, today it is even better, Although I am biased, it is really amazing system and you can adjust the camera position and angle around you in seconds (in some cases you can do that while riding)
