I guess now we are not only Monk pimps, but also Epic Monk pimps...
I have a 2012 Monk 135 x 42. This board seems to do it all for me at 190 lbs, so I will be selling off some more gear.
I have an EPIC Screamer 10 LTD (the only Epic kite the I currently have. My other kites are Best and OR).

If you looking for board friendly to your knees i would recommend to choose something with larger rocker. From my observations rocker solves this problem better than flex. Only minus as someone already mentioned is that rocker boards are slower. I self ride with Nobile 50 / fifty and in knees aspect this is great board but yes a bit too slow for me so looking for something faster now.

Yes!
flex in the tips is okay but between your feet you want the board stiff and with rocker. This is exactly what makes a great wakestyle board. What makes a great wakestyle board? great pop and soft landings regardless of what the kite is doing.

Decided to go with SupaEZ's idea and get a strapped surfboard for jumping. Now I'm only talking 10 foot jumps so nothing too crazy. Got the 2012 5'6" North Whip. It's a board that's missing from my quiver. Got the strapless 5'11" Doc Lausch for big stuff. Got the 5'7" Xanadu Wave Rocket (almost 22" wide) for light wind. Got the Mako King for going out in all kinds of stuff - also a great travel board. But got a good deal on this Whip and figured it would be small enough to slash around and bump and jump but also enough surface area to not need huge power... Comes in the mail Friday so I'll post on it's abilities.

If you are doing a basic pop and boost off the water then you don't need a board to make a landing easier on your knees. You just need to sheet in at the right moment on your decent to make your landing butter smooth. It also helps if you don't land stiff legged as well. Meaning you should bend your knees on the landing to absorb any impact if you are not landing smoothly.
Like everything else in life it just takes practice.
On the other hand if you are doing 720 handle passes where your landing is guaranteed to be harsh then you do need a heavier rocker board to absorb the impact. It's simple. The more curved the surface that impacts the water the less water to displace upon landing. Flater boards make your knees and heels take a pounding.

What kite you on. ? Keep kite at 1 then redirect aggressively near the end will get another lift for landing. Maybe you should put some pads on the pads on the mako.

It's not the board. It's the technique in landing like Brock said.
