Epic Kites 3rd Generation. 3G II

Postby Dimitri M » Mon Oct 15, 2012 6:03 pm

Epic News:

EPIC 3G II

In the past few years, Epic has provided amazing and innovative products to riders of all styles. These innovations were based on rider feedback, passion and desires. By the riders, for the riders! And we're about to do it all over again!
Our 3G kites have been so successful that riders have asked us not to make design changes to our line-up. The 3G (II) kites have the design elements that riders love so much, but now include updated pulleys, and graphic details such as the new "EPIC" font. These updates further prove our commitment to the very best in quality, construction and care.

RENEGADE 3G. II
We offer the 3G II Renegade in the following sizes: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 LTD v2, as well as the popular light wind INFINITY v2. The Renegade "Infinity" proved to be our best seller, and completes the Renegade line and sets the benchmark for powered kiting in light wind conditions. Key Renegade design features include a powerful profile, unparalleled stability, incredibly easy relaunch and a fun factor that can't be described. If you're looking for a kite that is more reliable and predictable than ever, the Renegade is the tool for you. Packed with power and precision this kite delivers in waves, freeride and any other condition you can throw at it.
Renegade INFINITY v2 II
Last year we rocked the kite industry with a light wind kite that was fast, had power, stability and easy relaunch. In actuality, the Infinity proved to be our most popular model, and riders all over the world are enjoying sessions in winds that would have otherwise canceled sessions. The Infinity v2 has been updated to include better upwind performance, more power than the initial version, and increased load and pop capability. You'll still be astounded at the stability in the air and easy relaunch that made version one so popular.
You won't believe this kite until you try it. As soon as you launch you'll appreciate the power and stability in very light winds. As you ride, you'll see that the turning speed has increased giving you a responsive and fun ride. Heck, pull the trigger and enjoy the floaty jumps or load and pop until the sun sets! We even put 5-meter extensions in the bag so you can use either 22 or 27-meter lines to maximize the kite's versatility.

SCREAMER 3G. II (The 3G II Screamers with new "EPIC" font will be available in March. Right now we have 3G only)
We've been keeping our designers busy, but the payoff is the best looking kite in the sky. With 3G II updates, the Screamer 7/9/12/14 now includes new valve material, improved pulleys and the new Epic logo! We've used a creative strut design and tricked the kite to be even more powerful and stable. The 3G Screamers are like a day at the rodeo... once those gates open - BOOM - it's a fun, wild and exhilarating ride that you go home and brag to your friends about. We're talking balls to the wall hang time, to the moon height and enough stoke to last a lifetime. If you want to see what we're thinking for our 4G line, check out the 3G Screamer LTD 10 meter and take in some of the new features.

SCREAMER 10 LTD 3G. II
The powerhouse is back! Our popular Screamer 10 meter Limited Edition is going 3G with some noted improvements. We always have considered the Limited Edition as our concept kite for the next iteration of the Screamers. This kite is our proving ground for the future sizes. With the 3G model, we've mellowed the abrupt power and made it more consistent and predictable allowing you to take advantage of stronger winds. We've also made this a faster turning and responding kite. Your kiteloops will never be the same! The turning speed is impressive and will always catch you at the end of the loop.
The Screamer 10 LTD 3G uses a different profile than the other sized Screamers, giving it a distinct C shape. This profile design makes it faster and more powerful than Screamers in other sizes.
We've very much retained the massive lift and hang time that gave this kite so much notoriety and recognition in magazine reviews. If you're looking to soar, boost massive kiteloops and pound upwind, we know you'll be awestruck by this masterpiece.

JUDGE 3G. (These will remain with the same "epic" font)
The Judge 6/8/11 is a true C kite with the benefits of modern relaunch and safety. Riders have enjoyed the lightning turning speed very fast relaunch making this kite a popular choice for new school wakestyle riders. You’ll love the smooth, constant pull, light bar pressure and explosive pop. Wave riders looking for a new school feel will enjoy responsive turning speed, insanely easy unhooked riding and drift. See what all the buzz is about, check out the JUDGE.

RACER
Let’s face it – you love to go ridiculously fast. The RACER is built for speed and getting on the podium. We recognized a growing rider demand for effective gear that gets results, so we went to work on the prototype development. After an exhaustive process, we are stoked to launch the RACER in 11, 14 and 17 meter sizes. The RACER generates some very impressive apparent wind by moving the kite. Flying forward in the window allows it to cut upwind with gusto. It’s also very well suited for nice, long, floaty jumps! We’ve been receiving extremely positive feedback from customers thanks to our R&D team’s input on the kite and specific bar. It is with this rider input that allows the result to speak for itself. If you’ve got the need for speed, keep an eye out for the RACER. You can see it on podiums near you!

REEF v2 (Surf Boards)
We've teamed up with Outer Banks shaping legend Jesse Fernadez to bring you the REEF v2 (5' 7" ATV and 6'0"). With his 40 years of knowledge, we came up with the new redesign Reef Surf boards. Our kitesurfboards are lightweight and built to handle the stresses of kiting. The REEF 5' 7" is a board suited for fun in all conditions. The REEF v2. 5'7" retains the current shape but utilizes 4 channels and a wing above the swallow tail to make the board really come alive and give you amazing hold and maneuverability. We call it the All Terrain Vehicle of surfboards for a reason! With lighter winds and mushy to medium waves, this board is right at home. The Reef v2. 6'0" is a longer, gunnier ride and will have you slaying those monster waves in no time. The revised rocker allows for greater speed and response enabling rider confidence and really adding to the fun factor. We've also given you a swallowtail for additional hold on the corners, lively feel versatility for varied conditions. To top it off, we've given these unbelievable boards fresh new paint job that is sure to get attention.

The 5'7" ATV has a fuller "fish" style outline that holds more volume through the nose. The wide, floaty, swallow tail allows the board to drive across flatter wave sections with ease. The ATV is relatively short so it requires little input for a lively, skatey feel making it a really fun board for a variety of wave and wind conditions. The shape also caters to a front foot style of riding due to the width and drive of the board. With our five box system, you can choose between a quad or thruster fin arrangement allowing you to tune the board to your riding style. Want to get really loose and skatey in the small stuff? Ride it was a twin fin or a twin fin with small trailer and tail slide the heck out of it! The five fin cluster is accentuated by a six channel bottom contour, which accelerates water through the back of the board, increasing speed in gutless surf. The wide outline, relatively thick foil and flatter entry rocker make this THE board to have for everyday riding, or in less than ideal conditions. The ATV rides equally well with or without straps, in winds ranging from 8 - 28 knots. We're thrilled with this board - we know you'll be amazed!
Great care and quality materials are used in the construction of Epic kite surf boards.
You think the 5'7" was a great board....Wait until you try the new V2 REEF 5'7".
The REEF 5'7" ATV V2 comes complete with: 5 FINS / 2 STRAPS / 2 PADS / LEASH / BAG. All this for the price of $799.

Specs:
Nose - 13 3/4"
Center - 19 1/2"
Tail - 15"
Thickness - 2 3/8

The 6'0" REEF v2 was designed for larger surf and/or stronger winds. Features include a traditional performance surf board outline with a thinner nose, pulled in squash nose and moderate rocker. Compared to the ATV, the longer rail line allows for a stronger hold when riding fast in bigger surf. Designed to be ridden off the back foot, above the fin cluster for drawn out bottom turns and big hacks off the top. Riders looking for powerful, down the line action will appreciate the rail hug and snappy response in the pocket especially because of its new "swallow" tail. With thinner pinched rails, pulled in tail and thruster set-up, the REEF holds tight during steep face riding or barrel hunting. Charge as hard as you want, this board will give you the confidence to tackle the big stuff.
The REEF was designed to be ridden strapless, but larger or heavier riders can mount straps and benefit from the increased rail line and size of this board.
Great care and quality materials are used in the construction of Epic kite surf boards.
So if you liked the 5'11" REEF, we guaranty you that you are going to love the new V2 REEF 6'0".
The REEF 6'0" V2 comes complete with: 3 FINS / 2 STRAPS / 2 PADS / LEASH / BAG. All this for the price of $749.

Specs:
Nose -11 1/2"
Center - 18 1/4"
Tail - 14 3/16"
Thickness - 2 1/4"

Hello Mr.randomtree,
The new bar will be ready in few months. I just want to make sure I am 110% happy with the new EPIC bar, so I need to test it as much as possible and see what happens after in the long run. I don't want to release something in the market with out testing it for more then 18 months. Most companies come out with a product and release it immediately. This is not who we are. So please be patient. All the 3G II kites come with the 2011 bars. But you can always buy kite only and use them with another bar until the new EPIC bars come out.

Just returned from a great trip to N.E.Brazil (our Honeymoon..we both kite) where conditions were awesome.
We were mostly using the Renegades and Screamers 5-7m mainly.
Whilst there we met Lestanio who was ripping on the Judge 8m at Cauipe Lagoon, I took a little bit of video of him during one short session.
