Not sure what kind of boards those are.. but I don't want one!

Those are the North 'Team Series' boards....MSRP $1199 with bindings.

But then, in order to be breaking boards all day you'd probably have to be going for the tricks he was and landing them, so I guess it all evens out.

Right, I have the team series, no problems for me, I am not landing super, super,super,powered in gorge chop, I am landing big powered tricks, and some time boards break for me but i have not broke the team series,rode the select before that,(same construction) again, no problems.. I am amazed how big Tommy was goings on the way out, most guys throw their tricks on the way in so they land in the smoother water, no one else was going for it like tommy was, I imagine there would be more boards broken if everyone had the balls to throw down like that on the way out!! I don't see this as weakness in a board, but a testament to how hard Tommy was charging in board breaking chop, while pumped up kn the contest stoke,if team seris boards and selects were breaking regularlly we would have heard complaints about many of them breaking on this forum, expesally at the price of these boards!!,

Pros break gear that's how it gets better so everyone else doesn't...the boards tommy broke may have been test prodect that was made differently then stock, that is why big names have big teams with riders pushing the progression...well most real kite company's do. some just copy and Internet pimp also.

I bet Tommy has lots of boards he has not broken also..

That's such BS. Kiteboards mostly suck. At this point there is no good reason for a wake style kiteboard to break like that and the no good reason why it should cost more than your average wakeboard.

It shouldn't cost more than a wakeboard, I'll grant you that. But in the world of kiteboarding, everyone wants a lighter board, and they want to stomp a 20 foot trick coming down without using the kite to catch themselves. You weight 200 lbs and come down on a board like that, something's gonna give, and it's either your leg or the board. Take your pick.
